New Archivist in the team
Many of you may have seen that our Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Archives service was looking for a new Archivist to join us on a fixed-term basis. We have now filled the post, and our new Archivist Kimberley Newell has joined us!
Kimberley has worked and volunteered at various different Archives. These experiences have included the Museum of the Mercian Regiment (WFR Collection), The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple and the National Army Museum. Kimberley has recently completed her post-graduate training with the University of Dundee.

Since her arrival in mid-September, Kim has been involved in various induction and archival tasks. These have, of course, also included many aspects of our current move from Old Aberdeen House!
She has taken part in box labelling (for move control):
Labels and newly labelled box. |
And repackaging!
Discarded boxes. |
Newly packaged box. |
Kimberley has also
visited Aberdeen Art Gallery, to meet and see what the wider Archives Art Gallery and Museums team are involved with.
And also our Treasure Hub.
[It is worth nothing that Kimberley is not the only Kimberley in our team! We also have Kim Smith, who has worked in the post of Archivist with the service since 2020. Kim S is now acting up as Senior Archivist]
